The PIR (Passive Infrared) motion sensor allows you to add motion activated effects to your light show. By connecting to the COM (Common) and NO (Normally Open) terminals on the motion sensor, you mimic a button press. This can be connected to our Raspberry Pi Input Extender, or a Raspberry Pi “In & Out” Pi Hat.
Mount to a wall, and when people walk in front of it, the motion will trigger the internal relay. This is a passive infrared detector, a motion sensor that detects body heat.
The product by itself is not weather resistant, however, adding a sealant around the screws & seams should give you the protection you need to be outside in the elements safely.
